Education Services
Studio Policies:
- 24 hour notice by telephone or email is required for lesson cancellations. If sufficient notice is not given, lesson fees will be charged. (This does not apply to very occasional lessons missed due to emergencies or severe illness.)
- If for any reason I am unable to teach a lesson, as much notice as possible will be given, and that lesson’s fees will be credited towards a future session. (No refunds of fees will be processed.)
- Students are asked to be on time (or ready) for each lesson. If a student is late, missed time may not always be made up.
Required Materials:
- Well tuned piano at home. (Electric/Digital keyboard or piano with 76-88 full size, weighted, touch responsive keys is also acceptable.)
- A metronome.
- 3 ring binder for weekly assignments and handouts.
General Information:
- Students are recommended to practice for 15 to 30 minutes a day, 4 to 5 days a week. If these practice guidelines are not followed, progress will be delayed.
- Parents/Guardians are more than welcome to sit in on the occasional lesson; however they are required to maintain the role of an observer in order to avoid distractions to the student. (Special Note: It is understandable that a parent wishes to see where their “money is going” but it is important to note that a child’s learning is made more difficult with a parent peering over their shoulder.)
Fees:
- Lesson fees are $30 per hour. (60 minutes)
- Lessons are available in slots of 30, 45 or 60 minutes.
- Lesson fees are to be paid MONTHLY. (Exceptions can be made under special circumstances, with prior discussion. Please contact me vial e-mail to work out a payment plan fitted to your needs.)
- Lesson fees are due at the first lesson of the month. (Paid in advance)
- Mileage fees may apply for out of city lessons. Please contact me for a quote or details!
- Books/manuals are NOT included in the lesson fees, and must be paid when receiving product.
